It’s exciting to bring you the news that we have a Pastor Nominating Committee (PNC). A PNC is charged with prayerfully discerning who Bayside’s next Head Pastor/Head of Staff will be.
The PNC will meet in the next few weeks to start their hard work. And they will update the congregation on the journey and process through email, minute for missions, and here on the website.
Please keep the PNC in your prayers.
We want to introduce you to this amazing group of people.
The members of our PNC are: Janet Baker, Peggy Hayes, Marshall Miller, Lynne Owen, Powell Peters, Tom Winter, and George Wong.

Janet Baker
I have recently retired and feel that I have the time to serve and commit to the process of bringing our next pastor to Bayside.

Peggy Hayes
As a lifelong Presbyterian, I've been part of many transitions; this is the first time I've served on a PNC. I'm honored to be part of the process of transition at Bayside. To me, "transition" means "becoming". "growing" and even "transforming". I have seen the energy in this church skyrocket recently. I've noticed more warmth and excitement, and felt new ideas being explored. I've seen cohesion, unity, and acceptance for all. I want to keep this momentum going as we seek our new pastor.
Proverbs 3: 5 reminds me to trust in the Lord with all my heart and lean not on my own understanding. I will listen for God's guidance in this process.

Marshall Miller
In the life of a church there is no function more important than the selection of a permanent pastor. We have all seen the impact and energy from one person.
I am honored that my fellow Bayside members have asked me to serve on the Pastor Nominating Committee. I pledge to my Bayside family that I will prayerfully perform my committee duties. I ask that Bayside extends prayers for me and the PNC as a whole.

Lynne Owen
I agreed to be a nominee for the PNC because this church has been a huge part of my life for the past 32 years. I raised my children in this church and am now raising my granddaughter in this church. I have been active in many different ministries of our church throughout the years, thus broadening my knowledge of and love for our church community. Bayside is my family and I care deeply about the people in our congregation and the future of our church. I want Bayside to thrive, to grow and to minister to as many people as possible. If I can help in any way to move us forward in a positive and hope-filled direction, I will always accept that call and I will make every effort to think about what is best for Bayside!

M. Powell Peters
I felt that this is a calling that I should answer. I feel strongly that the future leadership of our Church requires my full attention and that I have vast organizational experience trying to be an effective, servant leader.

Tom Winter
Much of my life has been influenced by Presbyterian pastors, starting most notably with my father. I have developed personal relationships with a dozen or so more in my adult years. I feel that I understand the importance of Bayside’s PNC’s challenge and am honored and humbled to be asked to be a member. I have served on an APNC at another church and on the Commission on Ministry within PEVA. If approved, I will be prayerful and diligent as the PNC attempts to discern God’s will for Bayside’s next Pastor.

George Wong
I am very honored to be considered as a member of the Pastor Nominating Committee.
Over the last 18 months, I have seen our church on an amazing upward trajectory. I attribute this to our wonderful Interim Pastor Aram Feinberg and our energized church staff.
Due to our loyal and diverse church family, the growth and energy in our church will continue to grow. I hope in my own small way I will help our church continue seeking to know and do the will of God.
