Persevering Toward Wholeness

Dates: June 22–July 2, 2026

Location: Milwaukee, Wisconsin

What is General Assembly?

The General Assembly (GA) is the highest council of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and meets every two years. It is a time when Presbyterians from across the denomination gather to worship, discern, learn, and make decisions that shape the ministry and mission of the church.
General Assembly includes committee meetings, plenary sessions, educational opportunities, public witness events, shared meals, and worship experiences.

Who Participates?
General Assembly includes:

  • Teaching Elders (pastors)

  • Ruling Elders

  • Young Adult Advisory Delegates

  • Theological Student Advisory Delegates

  • Partner Advisory Delegates

Together, these leaders prayerfully discern God's call for the church and make decisions that impact congregations throughout the PC(USA).

A Worshiping Community
General Assembly is more than a business meeting. It is a worshiping body where people from diverse backgrounds gather to celebrate God's work in the world, engage Scripture, share stories, and seek God's guidance for the future of the church.
The assembly also seeks to broaden participation by offering online committee meetings, accessible opportunities for service, and community engagement experiences that allow more people to participate in the life of the church.
Throughout General Assembly, Bayside Presbyterian Church will provide updates, commentary, and opportunities for prayer as important topics are discussed.
