Bayside Presbyterian Church has three Worship Services on Sunday mornings that celebrate diversity in worship experiences but also provide consistency in proclaiming God's presence, love, grace, and forgiveness. For each worship service, there is a need for help in a variety of ways to make the service one which is welcoming and meaningful. We encourage you to help in a worship service of your choice; contact Chris Pascuzzi to volunteer.
Lay Reader
We welcome Lay Readers at any of our three services. The lay reader comes to the pulpit and leads the prayer of confession (written by the lay reader or copied from another source) and reads the Old Testament Reading. Click here for information on procedures for the lay readers.
Usher
Ushers hand out bulletins at the 8 am and 11 am Worship Service, offer assistance in seating, if necessary, and collect the offering at all three services.
Music
Music is an important part of all of our worship services. Click here for information on our music ministries.
AV Support
There is a need for AV support at all our services. This usually involves making sure the microphones are balanced and working. All services now include slide shows with material normally found in the bulletin, hymnals or the Bible. This all has to be prepared in advance. Music is often pre-recorded at scheduled sessions during the week. During services audio, video camera, recorded video, slide shows, live streaming to the web and recording for later use are all controlled by the AV team. Even if this is not something you can do every Sunday, there is a need for trained people to call upon in the event our regular AV people are not available. And if you do not consider yourself knowledgeable enough to help, we can provide the training!
Flower Arrangers
One flower arrangement is completed for the sanctuary each Sunday. There is always a need for people who have skill or interest in learning how to arrange flowers for the sanctuary. The arrangement is taken apart on Monday mornings and delivered to shut-ins or hospital patients. People are needed to "re-do" the arrangement and deliver them.
