Worship Committee
Purpose: Worship Ministry coordinates and prepares our services of worship so that we as a congregation can seek to know and do the will of God through faithful participation in meaningful worship. We seek to nurture worshippers and encourage spiritual growth through the power of the Scripture, preaching and teaching and celebration of the sacraments of Baptism and the Lord's Supper.
Bayside Presbyterian Church has three Worship Services on Sunday mornings that celebrate diversity in worship experiences and provide consistency in proclaiming God's presence, love, grace, forgiveness and the sure way to salvation through Jesus Christ.
The Sail On Contemporary Service, meeting in the Fellowship Hall each Sunday morning except the first Sunday of the month, is a non-traditional, contemporary service for those seeking Praise Music and a passionate, informal atmosphere.
The Traditional Worship Services meet in the Sanctuary each Sunday morning at 8:00 and 11:00 a.m. and are comprised of membership of all ages who enjoy worshiping in traditional liturgy complimented by well-known hymns and choral music.
The Lord's Supper is celebrated at the Whole Family of Worship Service when all of our worshipers congregate together on the First Sunday of each month in the Sanctuary, and on other designated occasions throughout the year. It is also celebrated on the Third Sunday of the month in the Sail On Service.
Whole Family of Worship Services (combined services) are scheduled on the first Sunday of each month and throughout the year as a way to help us share together our faith and caring as one community of believers.
Worship Services are also held on Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday and Christmas Eve.
Activities and Programs:
Each Sunday, we prepare the Sanctuary and Fellowship Hall for worship and participate as Lay Readers, Greeters, Ushers, Acolytes, Praise Team and Choir musicians, and AV support and flower arrangers. To further generate a sense of community, all worshipers are encouraged to wear nametags so that we might better know one another.
The Praise Team and Music Ministries including Bells and Choirs for adults and children provide a variety of vocal and instrumental music opportunities.
We encourage the participation of children in worship through worship aids and activities as well as Children's Time with the pastors and Studio K on Sunday mornings at the 11:00 traditional service time.
