Christian Education Ministry
Purpose: The Christian Education Ministry is responsible for providing and coordinating opportunities for Christian Education and encouraging the continued growth in knowledge and understanding of Bible theology and the history of the church.
Activities and Programs:
The Christian Education Ministry carries out its mission through:
Children’s programs (infants through grade 5)
We affirm the promises we make at baptism to guide and nurture our children, encouraging them to know and follow Christ. To that end we offer year round Sunday Discipleship, mid-week programs (“JAM” - Jesus and Me) during the school year, and special events including: Advent programs, Lenten Program, a Sacraments class, and Vacation Bible School. The first Friday of each month during the school year, children can participate in First Friday evening events which include dinner, crafts and a movie.Children are welcome to participate in worship through a children's message and children's bulletins.
Youth Programs
Middle School (grades 6-8)
Our Middle School youth (grades 6-8) gather on Sunday mornings for Discipleship classes and Youth Group Sunday evening.
High School (grades 9-12)
High School youth (grades 9-12) participate in Discipleship classes on Sunday morning and youth group on Sunday evenings. High School youth participate in local missions as well as travel together during the summer on mission trips to locations across the United States and abroad. Youth in grades 9 and 10 can participate in a year-long confirmation class in order to become members of the Church.
Adult Programs
Adults of all ages have the opportunity to fellowship together and develop as disciples both on Sunday mornings as well as throughout the week. There are a variety of class styles and topics that are held year round. Some of the adult programs include the following:
The education ministry oversees the library in both the maintenance of its existing collection as well as reviewing and adding to the collection.
ResourcesThe education ministry maintains the arts and crafts room, the audio-visual equipment, and oversees the maintenance of all bulletin boards.

- Presbyterian Women Circles meet for study and fellowship.
- SIS (Sisters in the Spirit)-women’s bible study on Tuesday mornings.
- MOPS (Mothers of Pre-Schoolers)-meets on the first and third Thursday in the afternoon.
- Bayside Fun and Fellowship (BFF)-a group of older congregants who meet at various times during the year for education and fellowship, both on and off campus.
- Wednesday evening studies during Advent and Lent.
- Believing and Belonging-a class held on Sunday mornings for those interested in becoming members of Bayside or who just want to know a little more about Bayside Church or about Presbyterians.
