Mission Trips
Mission Trips are an integral part of the Youth program. Past trips include Ticul, Mexico; Pine Ridge, South Dakota; Harlan, Kentucky; Washington DC; Atlantic City, New Jersey; and south-central New York State.
The summer of 2008 features three mission opportunities for young people:
June 21-28, 2008 Ticul, Mexico. A youth and adult Mission Trip continuing the work started 5 years ago in helping to build the Church Fuente de Agua Viva. Cost: $1,000. (Contact Ben Skidmore at the church for more information.)
July 13-20, 2008 Project Crossroads, Marion, VA. This trip is open to both Middle School and High School. We will be doing contruction work, i.e. decks, handicap ramps, roofing, painting, and more. Cost: $175. (Cost includes meals, lodging, White Water Rafting, and transportation.)
Registration Deadline: May 1 or when trip fills. $100 deposit required to reserve your spot, payment due in full by May 1.
The trip includes 4 adults, 20 young people - maximum.
July 27-August 2 Project Hospitality, Staten Island, NY. For high School only, we drive to NY to work with homeless and HIV patients. The trip culminates with a Broadway show on Friday night. Cost: $250. (Cost includes meals, lodgin, Broadway Show, and transportation.)
Registration Deadline: The following will be the "pyramid" for open registration because of the limited space. Full payment due at time of registration. No refunds unless space can be filled.
- High School Seniors have priority registration through January 27. - High School Juniors and older have priority registration through February 3. - High School Sophomores and older have priority registration through February 10. - Open registration for remaining High School young people until the trip is full.
(The trip will include 3 adults and 12 high school young people.)
