Bayside's Ministries

Welcome to Bayside's Witness Ministry!
Mission:

TO SHARE THE LOVE OF GOD IN THIS COUNTRY AND ACROSS THE WORLD

  • Identify special projects in which this congregation can participate at a national and international level
  • Plan and lead programs to strengthen global Witness and International Missions
  • Plan and lead programs to interpret General Assembly position papers relating to missions and peacemaking
  • Alert the Session and congregation to new ways in which we can Witness the Gospel outside our own community

Current Projects:

Congo Partnership- The relationship with our sister churches in the Congo, Lemba and Limete, continues. It is through this relationship that Bayside Presbyterian connects with the work of the Presbytery of Eastern Virginia via the International Partnership Committee. We continue to give support to various building projects, including a maternity clinic, and church development.

Fuente de Aqua Viva- In June 2008 we will again send a contingent of youth and adults from Bayside on a mission trip to Ticul, Mexico (Fuente de Aqua Viva) to assist in building construction. Our folks also plan and conduct a “Vacation Bible School” supporting church development. This mission strengthens our ongoing relationship with the Presbyterian Church in Mexico.

The Witness Ministry actively supports “Stamps for Missions,” a project that supports printing of Bibles and Christian Education in the Congo and Jamaica; and recycling of prescription eyeglasses for foreign missions. We also encourage worldwide mission assistance through special over and above offerings throughout the year, including One Great Hour of Sharing, World Communion Peacemaking Offering, and the Joy Fund and participating in the Nickel-a-Meal Program.

Interested in getting involved? Why not join us in our efforts to convey Christ's love from Bayside Presbyterian to the world? We would love to have you join us! Contact Witness Ministry Moderator,
Carl Stein for meeting times.

The Witness Ministry is composed of Carl Stein (moderator), Russell Brown and Mary Jo Kennedy and supportive members of the congregation.
