| Purpose:
Congregational Care is the ministry that oversees the nurture, care, and mutual fellowship of the congregation. As a church family we meet the charge expressed in our Mission Statement to "provide a supportive, loving, and caring ministry to and with one another." Activities and Programs: This mission is carried out through many different programs, including: Nurture – meals, transportation and childcare is provided for those experiencing an unexpected emergency, are disabled, or who are in a crisis situation. Referrals are made to the pastors for visitation of the sick, shut-in and grieving. Correspondence – cards and notes are sent to remind members and friends who may be sick, shut-in or grieving, that their church family is praying for them. Prayer chain – verbal requests and requests from forms in the pew racks are responded to through the power of corporate prayer. Fellowship – this takes many forms, such as:
Support Presbyterian Women – women in the congregation who meet monthly in small groups, or circles, to study God’s word, enjoy the camaraderie of fellow Christians, and much more. Support and maintain a liaison with scout troops chartered by our church. Coordinate the making of a church-wide pictorial directory approximately every three years. Current Projects: The above activities and programs are ongoing. Other projects include: Providing the congregation with small gifts at Easter, Mother's Day, and Father's Day to celebrate these special events in our church. Planning a winter activity with food and fellowship to bring the congregation together on a cold winter evening. |
