Commitment Ministry
Purpose:

The Commitment Ministry develops plans and programs to encourage and facilitate the active involvement of our membership, with the goal of continually increasing our individual and collective commitment to the needs of God’s church.

Activities and Programs:

The ministry encourages the congregation's stewardship of time, talent, and money year around through the following:

  • Working with the Evangelism Ministry to promote the involvement of new members into the full life and work of the church.
  • Working with the Congregational Care Ministry to care for church members who have become, or are becoming, inactive.
  • Providing a Confirmation Class for young people to make a commitment to Christ and the church.
  • Securing members of the congregation to become active in the ministries of Session and its committees, the Church School, the fellowships and programs of the church, and other activities in the life of the church.
  • Keeping the role of active/inactive members.
  • Supervising an annual program to explain to the members the programs and needs of the church.
  • Overseeing an annual stewardship campaign of time and talents, maintaining a list of interests and talents of members.
  • Encouraging long term stewardship through wills and bequests.
