Administrative Support Ministry

Purpose:

The Administrative Support Ministry is responsible for ensuring that Bayside has the appropriate staff to support the mission and vision of church. In coordination with other ministries they provide support, guidance, performance reviews, and strive to ensure effective communication among all staff members. 

Activities: 

Make recommendations to the Session and Congregation regarding changes in the staff when needed.  Oversee the hiring of new staff.

Oversee the management of staff including annual evaluations and goals.

Review compensation, benefits, job descriptions, and Terms of Call of staff and pastors.

Provide staff with all pertinent information regarding church policies and procedures.

Assist staff with reviewing and purchasing office equipment and software.

Be an advocate for staff and assist staff with questions and concerns.

Annually provide staff with Administrative Support Ministry staff liaisons.

Monitor staff morale and provide support when needed.

Current Projects:

Reviewing and updating staff job descriptions.

Reviewing and updating the Personnel Handbook.

Supporting the Pastor Nominating Committee and Transition Committees.

How Can I Get Involved?

Contact the Moderator of Administrative Support.  The Administrative Support Ministry is made of both active Session members and members of the Congregation.  We are always looking for individuals with a background in Human Resource Management.

Meeting Time:
Administrative Support meets on the first Tuesday of the month at 7:00 at the church.  This is a common meeting time for all Ministries, which are preceded by an “all Ministries meeting” gathering time of prayer and conversation.
